چکیده
Cells always undergo large deformation in response to external stimulations or internal stresses many cell functions (e.g., migration, division and growth). When undergoing deformation, crosslinked actin filament networks (CAFNs) show strong nonlinear elasticity maintain the shape integrity, known as strain stiffening, which plays a crucial role functions. To investigate elastic behaviors of CAFNs, three-dimensional representative volume element model is used perform finite method simulations. Simulation results that fraction, crosslinking density components’ Young’s moduli significant influences on CAFNs. In addition, shear stress–strain curves CAFNs highly depend bending stiffness tensile filamins well filaments, however, they are almost insensitive filaments. The present work not only sheds light but also provides valuable reference for developing advanced artificial composite structures can be semi-flexible biomedical scaffolds wearable electronics.

Nonlinear Mechanics of Biopolymer Networks
The progress of modern biology demands an interdisciplinary approach to research, bridging the gap between previously disparate fields. This thesis presents a study of the elasticity and microstructure of neurofilaments, which are the primary constituents of neurons, providing the essential mechanical support to resist external stresses. To probe the underlying mechanical properties of neurofil...
متن کاملNonlinear Buckling of Circular Nano Plates on Elastic Foundation
The following article investigates nonlinear symmetric buckling of moderately thick circular Nano plates with an orthotropic property under uniform radial compressive in-plane mechanical load. Taking into account Eringen nonlocal elasticity theory, principle of virtual work, first order shear deformation plate theory (FSDT) and nonlinear Von-Karman strains, the governing equations are obtained ...
متن کاملElastic Properties of Crosslinked Polymers
At first a survey is given on the thermodynamics of rubber-elasticity and the results of the statistical theory of molecular networks. Experimental data of torsional vibrations, stress—strain measurements (simple extension and uniaxial compression) and photoelastic properties in dependence of temperature are reported. The measurements have been carried out on dry and swollen crosslinked polymer...
متن کاملMicrostructure, elastic properties and deformation mechanisms of horn keratin.
The structure and mechanical properties of the horns from a desert bighorn sheep, Ovis canadensis, were examined. Horns must be strong and durable as they are subjected to extreme loading impacts, making them superior structural materials. Horns are composed of alpha-keratin, a fibrous, structural protein found in hair, nails, claws and hooves. Horns have a lamellar structure (2-5microm in thic...
متن کاملMultiscale Evaluation of the Nonlinear Elastic Properties of Carbon Nanotubes Under Finite Deformation
This paper deals with the calculation of the elastic properties for single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) under axial deformation and hydrostatic pressure using the atomistic-based continuum approach and the deformation mapping technique. A hyperelastic model based on the higher-order Cauchy-Born (HCB) rule being applicable at finite strains and accounting for the chirality and material nonli...
