Norm minimized Scattering Data from Intensity Spectra
We apply the ℓ 1 minimizing technique of compressive sensing (CS) to non-linear quadratic observations. For the example of coherent X-ray scattering we provide the formulae for a Kalman filter approach to quadratic CS and show how to reconstruct the scattering data from their spatial intensity distribution.
متن کاملNonmagnetic cloak with minimized scattering
In an electromagnetic cloak based on a transformation approach, reduced sets of material properties are generally favored due to their easier implementation in reality, although a seemingly inevitable drawback of undesired scattering exists in such cloaks. Here, the authors suggest the use of high-order transformations to create smooth moduli at the outer boundary of the cloak, therefore comple...
متن کاملAutomated cropping intensity extraction from isolines of wavelet spectra
Timely and accurate monitoring of cropping intensity (CI) is essential to help us understand changes in food production. This paper aims to develop an automatic Cropping Intensity extraction method based on the Isolines of Wavelet Spectra (CIIWS) with consideration of intra-class variability. The CIIWS method involves the following procedures: (1) characterizing vegetation dynamics from time–fr...
متن کاملDynamic scaling of quasielastic neutron scattering spectra from interfacial water.
A method for analysis of high-resolution quasielastic neutron scattering (QENS) spectra of water in porous media is proposed and applied to the case of water in hydrated tricalcium and dicalcium silicates. We plot the normalized frequency-dependent susceptibility as a function of a scaling variable [omega]/omega(p), where omega(p) is the peak position of the susceptibility function. QENS data h...
متن کاملEffect of multiple scattering on SANS spectra from bicontinuous microemulsions.
Small-angle neutron scattering is a powerful tool for investigating the microstructure of self-assembled systems. The domain length, d, and the correlation length, xi, are two measures of bicontinuous microemulsions that are often determined from coherent SANS spectra. Some microemulsions scatter strongly, however, so measured spectra can contain multiple coherent scattering, and neglect of tha...
