Novel Mathematical Design of Triple-Tuned Filters for Harmonics Distortion Mitigation

The design of AC filters must meet the criteria harmonic distortion mitigation and reactive power support in various operating modes. stringent power-sharing requirements currently lead to sophisticated filter schemes with high component ratings. In this regard, triple-tuned (TTFs) have good potential a broad range harmonics. literature, TTF has been presented using parametric method, assuming that is equivalent three-arm single-tuned (TASTF). However, no direct methods designing it or finding its optimal parameters provided. This paper presents novel mathematical designs TTFs. Three different are considered—the (DTTF) as TASTF, method based on equivalence between two called hypothesis (EHF). three proposed optimized minimization multi-objective function recent metaheuristic algorithm artificial rabbits optimization (ARO) mitigate harmonics, improve quality, minimize losses an exemplary system IEEE STD-519. Further, system’s performance compared by ant lion optimizer (ALO) whale (WOA) validate effectiveness design. Simulation results emphasized harmonics system, reduction, quality improvement lower ratings than conventional single double-tuned filters.
