Numerical investigation of turbulent kinetic energy and heat transfer performance in axial water jacket of high-power-density permanent magnet synchronous motor

In the field of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) cooling, turbulent kinetic energy (TKE) and dissipation (TD) are used for first time to numerically evaluate heat transfer performance axial water jackets (WJs), in order investigate influence WJ's structural parameters on water-cooled system high-power-density (HPD-PMSMs). present work, temperature distribution fluid flow pattern a 40kW HPD-PMSM were calculated using finite element method, testing at different speeds built test platform. addition, effects bend shape cooling channels (BSCC) examined, detailed analysis mechanism underlying development evolution high vorticity vortex is provided. The findings demonstrate that TKE attenuated by positive development, which harmful TKE's normal function WJ transfer. Furthermore, maximum stator winding was reduced 93.49?C velocity within could be increased 14.34% owing BSCC improvement.
