چکیده
Abstract With the increasingly deepen knowledge on structural dynamic behaviour, nowadays, monumental staircases and their steps are usually designed with high stiffness low mass, obtaining fundamental frequencies, out of interval step frequencies excitable by human walking. However, neglecting structure’s mass can also result in levels impulsive responses. Furthermore, often connection between staircase its experience an almost null rotational stiffness, which cause local vibrations steps, where behaviour two elements is nearly independent from each other. In this scenario, will most likely exhibit undesirable vibrations. Hence, intending to improve future designs, paper compares different numerical methods that be used predict induced type structures, applying them a real liveness. The results showed footfall force time histories method could realistically for all tested while effective impulse accurately estimate descents at frequencies. walking models defined Fourier coefficients only generated close 3.3 Hz.

Mathematical Models and Numerical Methods for High Frequency Waves
The numerical approximation of high frequency wave propagation is important in many applications. Examples include the simulation of seismic, acoustic, optical waves and microwaves. When the frequency of the waves is high, this is a difficult multiscale problem. The wavelength is short compared to the overall size of the computational domain and direct simulation using the standard wave equatio...
متن کاملNumerical-asymptotic boundary integral methods in high-frequency acoustic scattering∗
In this article we describe recent progress on the design, analysis and implementation of hybrid numerical-asymptotic boundary integral methods for boundary value problems for the Helmholtz equation that model time harmonic acoustic wave scattering in domains exterior to impenetrable obstacles. These hybrid methods combine conventional piecewise polynomial approximations with high-frequency asy...
متن کاملNumerical Methods for High Frequency Acoustic Scattering Problems
Acoustic wave scattering problems arise in application areas as diverse as the modelling of sonar, acoustic noise barriers, and ultrasound. In many practical applications the characteristic length scale L of the domain is large compared to the wavelength . In such cases the small dimensionless wavelength L / leads to oscillatory solutions. In order to resolve these solutions, standard numer...
متن کاملTo Take the Stairs or Not to Take the Stairs? Employing the Reflective–Impulsive Model to Predict Spontaneous Physical Activity
The reflective–impulsive model (RIM) has been employed to explain various health behaviors. The present study used RIM to predict a spontaneous physical activity behavior. Specifically, 107 participants (75 females; Mage = 20.6 years, SD = 1.92 years) completed measures of (1) reflections about spontaneous physical activity, as indexed by self-report questionnaire; (2) impulse toward physical a...
متن کاملDynamics of liquid films exposed to high-frequency surface vibration.
We derive a generalized equation that governs the spreading of liquid films under high-frequency (MHz-order) substrate vibration in the form of propagating surface waves and show that this single relationship is universally sufficient to collectively describe the rich and diverse dynamic phenomena recently observed for the transport of oil films under such substrate excitation, in particular, R...
