Abstract Thermoforming is a complex process with numerous parameters that potentially have an influence on the wall thickness distribution of end product. Test benches do not allow for measuring all relevant influences. Numerical simulations therefore proven to be useful tool in order obtain deeper insight into and mutual interactions between input parameters. Forming air impact thermoforming can thought as extension common negative takes advantage flow inside pressure chamber favorable deformation behavior, ultimately leading improved final distribution. The purposeful interaction field plastic sheet implies significantly more physical system when approaching modeling techniques. This paper describes setup structural simulation model thermoforming, approximative manner includes effects within box deforming sheet. Special focus laid implementation counter-pressure due trapped mold. Validation presented yield satisfactory results thus show high potential occurring forming thermoforming.
