چکیده

Gas injection into a naturally fractured oil reservoir keeps the pressure and increments initial recovery from reservoir. The main aim of this work was to develop numerical model calculate mass transfer (molecular diffusion convection) between gas injected in fracture residual fluid (gas oil) matrix block. dual continuum is applied describe flow behaviour porous media. Finally, validated by comparing outcomes with results two experimental works available literature. mathematical are agreement laboratory data including each component, saturation profile, gradient fracture. Modeling show that after 25 days N 2 injection, lighter heavier components (C1 C5) recovered about 51% 39%, respectively. These amounts for CO 49% 27%. It found convection mechanism has great effect on preventing drop during operations. In nitrogen without considering convection, 30 days, reaches 1320 Psi 1479 but 1473 Psi.

there is no doubt that human being needs to become integrated with industry and industry needs to be progressed, daily. on the other hand, serious events in industrial units specially in oil industries has been shown that such damages and events are industry related ones. the consequence of such events and damages which resulted in chemical and poisoned explosions and loss of life and property ...

Investigating the Effects of Heterogeneity, Injection Rate, and Water Influx on GAGD EOR in Naturally Fractured Reservoirs

The gas-assisted gravity drainage (GAGD) process is designed and practiced based on gravity drainage idea and uses the advantage of density difference between injected CO2 and reservoir oil. In this work, one of Iran western oilfields was selected as a case study and a sector model was simulated based on its rock and fluid properties. The pressure of CO2 gas injection was close to the MMP of th...

Numerical Modeling of Diffusion in Fractured Media for Gas-Injection and -Recycling Schemes

Diffusion in fractured reservoirs, unlike in unfractured reservoirs, can affect significantly the efficiency of gas injection in oil reservoirs and recycling in gas/condensate reservoirs. The physical diffusion, similar to gravity, results in the change of the path of the injected gas species from the fractures to the matrix, giving rise to late breakthrough. In this work, we present, for the f...

Coupling Geomechanics and Transport in Naturally Fractured Reservoirs

Large amounts of hydrocarbon reserves are trapped in naturally fractured reservoirs which arechallenging in terms of accurate recovery prediction because of their joint fabric complexity andlithological heterogeneity. Canada, for example, has over 400 billion barrels of crude oil in fracturedcarbonates in Alberta, most of this being bitumen of viscosity greater than 106 cP in the GrosmontFormat...
