Numerical Simulation Analysis on the Lateral Dynamic Characteristics of Deepwater Conductor Considering the Pile-Soil Contact Models

It is important to accurately assess the interaction between conductor and soil ensure stability of subsea wellheads during deepwater drilling. In this paper, numerical simulations were carried out study lateral dynamic bearing capacity considering different contact models soil. particular, surface model element selected behavior pile–soil under a transverse periodic load. On basis, influence bending moment, wellhead stick-up, outer diameter (O.D.) wall thickness (W.T.) conductor, as well physical parameters on are discussed in detail. Analysis results show that deformation, deflection angle von Mises stress calculated by greater than those model. The maximum value deformation moment decrease with O.D. W.T. cohesion internal friction However, increase stick-up. Both vertical force density have negligible effect conductor. This has reference for design assessment wellheads.
