Abstract A finite element method was applied to establish a mathematical model of single crystal blade’s directional solidification process. The had different angles between the axis mold group and blade. effects radiation on temperature variation laws at blade positions were investigated. near center lower than that wall upper side baffle, while it higher side. Moreover, grain growth stray particles in casting defects influenced by orientation. scattering faster. isolated solid-liquid mixing zone more prone form platform tip when orientation angle smaller. 0° resulted most severe phenomenon.
