Numerical Simulation of Flow and Heat Transfer of a Discontinuous Single Started Helically Ribbed Pipe

In the present study, turbulent flow field and heat transfer in a single started helically ribbed pipe with discontinuous rib are investigated. A large-eddy simulation (LES) technique is applied section cyclic boundary conditions. The aim of this study to explain further analyze findings from measurements at such complex structures help detailed simulations. results validated Reynolds number Re = 21,100 Prandtl Pr 7 water as fluid. comparison clearly shows that current method delivers accurate concerning average field, turbulence quantities local transfer. demonstrate capable correctly simulating flows three-dimensional structures. overall performance compared smooth continuous configuration. impact interruption structure on pressure drop analyzed detail.
