چکیده

Since the introduction of mandatory energy efficiency design index (EEDI), several studies have been conducted on maneuverability waves owing to decrease in engine power. However, most used mean wave force during a single cycle evaluate and investigated turning performance. In this study, we calculated external accordance with angle incidence width wavelengths encountered by KVLCC2 (KRISO very large crude-oil carrier) operating at low speeds regular using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). We compare model test results those published other papers. Based CFD, an that varies according phase meets hull was derived, based derived MMG control simulation, maneuvering simulation constructed. Using method, weather vaning performed course-keeping ability waves. The confirmed there difference trajectory wavelength encountered.

Wave Theory II — Numerical Simulation of Waves — (1) Weve Equations and Numerical Simulation of Waves

This course describes the fundamental theories of the numerical simulation methods of wave phenomena by using computers. In this first lecture, wave equations in different areas are briefly reviewed, and are generalized into the common equation. Then, the purposes and the advantages of the numerical simulation are described. Finally, the methods which are described in this course are introduced...

Lagrangian simulation of oil droplets transport due to regular waves

Dispersed oils (i.e., oil droplets) at sea are transported by convection due to waves and buoyancy and by turbulent diffusion. This work follows the common approach in the oil community of using a Lagrangian approach instead of the Eulerian approach. Our focus was on small scale simulation of oil plumes subjected to regular waves. Stokes’ theory was used to obtain analytical expressions for wav...

The Numerical Simulation of Ship Waves Using Cartesian Grid Methods

Two different cartesian-grid methods are used to simulate the flow around the DDG 5415. The first technique uses a “coupled level-set and volume-of-fluid” (CLS) technique to model the free-surface interface. The noflux boundary condition on the hull is imposed using a finite-volume technique. The second technique uses a level-set technique (LS) to model the free-surface interface. A body-force ...
