Observable bound for Gaussian illumination

چکیده
We propose observable bounds for Gaussian illumination to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio, which minimizes discrimination error between presence and absence of a low-reflectivity target using states. The are achieved with mode-by-mode measurements. In quantum regime two-mode squeezed vacuum state, our receiver outperforms other feasible receivers whereas it cannot approach Chernoff bound. corresponding be implemented heterodyne detections due additional noise. classical thermal photon number difference measurement approaches its bound regardless signal mean number, while asymptotically in limit huge idler number.

Bound entangled Gaussian states.
We discuss the entanglement properties of bipartite states with Gaussian Wigner functions. For the separability, and the positivity of the partial transpose, we establish explicit necessary and sufficient criteria in terms of the covariance matrix of the state. It is shown that, for systems composed of a single oscillator for Alice and an arbitrary number for Bob, positivity of the partial tran...
متن کاملAn Improved Error Bound for Gaussian Interpolation
It’s well known that there is a so-called exponential-type error bound for Gaussian interpolation which is the most powerful error bound hitherto. It’s of the form |f(x) − s(x)| ≤ c1(c2d) c3 d ‖f‖h where f and s are the interpolated and interpolating functions respectively, c1, c2, c3 are positive constants, d is the fill-distance which roughly speaking measures the spacing of the data points, ...
متن کاملQuasirandom distributed Gaussian bases for bound problems
We introduce quasirandom distributed Gaussian bases ~QDGB! that are well suited for bound problems. The positions of the basis functions are chosen quasirandomly while their widths and density are functions of the potential. The basis function overlap and kinetic energy matrix elements are analytical. The potential energy matrix elements are accurately evaluated using few-point quadratures, sin...
متن کاملGaussian hypothesis testing and quantum illumination
Quantum hypothesis testing is one of the most basic tasks in quantum information theory and has fundamental links with quantum communication and estimation theory. In this paper, we establish a formula that characterizes the decay rate of the minimal type-II error probability in a quantum hypothesis test of two Gaussian states given a fixed constraint on the type-I error probability. This formu...
متن کاملGaussian Mixture Models for Human Face Recognition under Illumination Variations
The appearance of a face is severely altered by illumination conditions that makes automatic face recognition a challenging task. In this paper we propose a Gaussian Mixture Models (GMM)-based human face identification technique built in the Fourier or frequency domain that is robust to illumination changes and does not require “illumination normalization” (removal of illumination effects) prio...
