Observer-Based Secure Control for Vehicular Platooning Under DoS Attacks

چکیده
This paper investigates an observer-based secure control problem for platooning of connected vehicles in the presence Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks. DoS attacks usually prevent vehicle-to-vehicle data packets transmission which will lead to performance degradation system or vehicle collision. To deal with attacks, we consider mechanism estimate state based on available sensor measurements significantly improves resilience and tolerance during attack interval. Then, provide optimization framework maximize duration such that can tolerate safe operation without degradation. The simulation results verify effectiveness proposed method.

Stealth-MITM DoS Attacks on Secure Channels
We de ne stealth Man-in-the-Middle adversaries, and analyse their ability to launch denial and degradation of service (DoS) attacks on secure channels. We show realistic attacks, disrupting TCP communication over secure VPNs using IPsec. We present: 1. First amplifying DoS attack on IPsec, when deployed without anti-replay window. 2. First amplifying attack on IPsec, when deployed with a `small...
متن کاملStealth DoS Attacks on Secure Channels
We initiate study of the use of ‘secure tunnel’ protocols, specifically IPsec, and its availability and performance guarantees to higher-layer protocols, in particular TCP, against Denial/Degradation of Service (DoS) attacks. IPsec is designed to provide privacy and authentication against MITM attackers, and employs an anti-replay mechanism to ensure performance. For our analysis, we define a n...
متن کاملQuantized Output Feedback Stabilization under DoS Attacks
This paper addresses the stabilization of quantized linear systems under Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks. Using a state transformation that satisfies a certain norm condition, we first propose an output encoding method that achieves the stabilization of systems with finite-data rates only under an assumption on the duration of DoS attacks. Next we add a condition on the frequency of DoS attacks...
متن کاملSecure TLS: Preventing DoS Attacks with Lower Layer Authentication
SSL/TLS has been designed to protect authenticity, integrity, and confidentiality. However, considering the possibility of TCP data injection, as described in [Wa04], it becomes obvious that this protocol is vulnerable to DoS attacks just because it is layered upon TCP. In this paper, we analyze DoS-attacks on SSL/TLS and describe a simple, yet effective way to provide protection for SSL/TLS by...
متن کاملSecure SIP: A Scalable Prevention Mechanism for DoS Attacks on SIP Based VoIP Systems
Traditional perimeter security solutions cannot cope with the complexity of VoIP protocols at carrier-class performance. We implemented a large-scale, rule-based SIP-aware application-layer-firewall capable of detecting and mitigating SIP-based Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks at the signaling and media levels. The detection algorithms, implemented in a highly distributed hardware solution lever...
