Oil/water separation and functionality of smart carbon nanotube–titania nanotube composite

Abstract Water treatment applications are in high demand recently. In this work, the titania nanotube (TNT) was successfully grown onto outer surface of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) via hydrothermal method. The resultant prepared composite doped with different ratios nitrogen. structural and morphological merits composites displayed successful composition matrices, as well particle size within nanoscale. optical specifications demonstrate direct indirect transitions a energy gap (> 3 eV). testing oils water/oil separation exhibited rate success to split oil water 95%). regard, CNT-TNT 1.0 sample reflects highest efficiency. Compared other researchers that efficiency their proposed structure, our membrane offers decent might provide feasible cost-effective method for application nanotechnological fields.
