Olive Mill by-Products Thermochemical Conversion via Hydrothermal Carbonization and Slow Pyrolysis: Detailed Comparison between the Generated Hydrochars and Biochars Characteristics

In this research work, an ecofriendly approach was adopted for the treatment of two abundant liquid and solid agricultural wastes generated by olive mill industry: wastewater (OMWW) raw pomace (ROP). It consists, firstly impregnation ROP OMWW conversion resulting impregnated sample (IROP) into hydrochars biochars through hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) slow pyrolysis methods, respectively. The impact temperature on physico-chemical properties derived chars assessed various analytical techniques. production yields were found to be higher than ones associated lower used. However, possess carbon percentage volatile matter contents. addition, increase temperatures shows macro-elements contents a significant decrease O/C ratios which led enhancement high heating value both biochars. FTIR Boehm titration analysis highlighted alteration surface chemistry compared evidenced amount functional groups. collected data emphasize efficient potential application environmental applications, Furthermore, it noted that have energetic potentials could used co-firing with coal in industrial boilers.
