construction of vector fields with positive lyapunov exponents
in this thesis our aim is to construct vector field in r3 for which the corresponding one-dimensional maps have certain discontinuities. two kinds of vector fields are considered, the first the lorenz vector field, and the second originally introced here. the latter have chaotic behavior and motivate a class of one-parameter families of maps which have positive lyapunov exponents for an open in...
15 صفحه اولIntegration with Respect to a Vector Measure and Function Approximation
The integration with respect to a vector measure may be applied in order to approximate a function in a Hilbert space by means of a finite orthogonal sequence {fi} attending to two different error criterions. In particular, if ∈ R is a Lebesgue measurable set, f ∈ L2( ), and {Ai} is a finite family of disjoint subsets of , we can obtain a measure μ0 and an approximation f0 satisfying the follow...
متن کاملRemarks on the Semivariation of Vector Measures with Respect to Banach Spaces
Let L(ν)⊗̂γqY = Lq(ν, Y ) and X⊗̂∆pL(μ) = Lp(μ,X). It is shown that any Lp(μ)-valued measure has finite L2(ν)-semivariation with respect to the tensor norm L(ν)⊗̂∆pL(μ) for 1 ≤ p < ∞ and finite Lq(ν)semivariation with respect to the tensor norm L(ν)⊗̂γqL(μ) whenever either q = 2 and 1 ≤ p ≤ 2 or q > max{p, 2}. However there exist measures with infinite Lq-semivariation with respect to the tensor no...
متن کاملSPACES OF INTEGRABLE FUNCTIONS WITH RESPECT TO VECTOR MEASURES OF CONVEX RANGE AND FACTORIZATION OF OPERATORS FROM Lp-SPACES
Let (Ω,Σ) be a measurable space and let X be a Banach space. Throughout this paper G will be a countably additive vector measure G : Σ → X. Consider the space L1(G) of (classes of real) G-integrable functions, following the definition of Bartle, Dunford and Schwartz [1] and Lewis [9]. The properties of this space have been studied by Kluvánek and Knowles [7], Okada [10] and Curbera [2]. In the ...
متن کاملCopula-Based Integration of Vector-Valued Functions
A copula-based method to integrate a real vector-valued function, obtaining a single real number, is discussed. Special attention is paid to the case when the underlying universe is finite. The integral considered here is shown to be an extension of [0, 1]-valued copula-based universal integrals.
