Non-Self-Adjoint Singular Sturm-Liouville Problems with Boundary Conditions Dependent on the Eigenparameter
and Applied Analysis 3 2. Jost Solution of 1.4 We will denote the solution of 1.4 satisfying the condition lim x→∞ y x, λ e−iλx 1, λ ∈ C : {λ : λ ∈ C, Imλ ≥ 0}, 2.1 by e x, λ . The solution e x, λ is called the Jost solution of 1.4 . Under the condition ∫∞ 0 x ∣ ∣q x ∣ ∣dx < ∞, 2.2 the Jost solution has a representation
متن کاملRandom Sturm-Liouville operators
Selfadjoint Sturm-Liouville operators Hω on L2(a, b) with random potentials are considered and it is proven, using positivity conditions, that for almost every ω the operator Hω does not share eigenvalues with a broad family of random operators and in particular with operators generated in the same way as Hω but in L2(ã, b̃) where (ã, b̃) ⊂ (a, b).
متن کاملComputing the Spectrum of Non Self-adjoint Sturm-liouville Problems with Parameter Dependent Boundary Conditions
— This paper deals with the computation of the eigenvalues of non self-adjoint Sturm-Liouville problems with parameter dependent boundary conditions using the regularized sampling method. A few numerical examples among which singular ones will be presented to illustrate the merit of the method and comparison made with the exact eigenvalues when they are available.
متن کاملSturm–liouville Operators on Time Scales
We establish the connection between Sturm–Liouville equations on time scales and Sturm–Liouville equations with measure-valued coefficients. Based on this connection we generalize several results for Sturm–Liouville equations on time scales which have been obtained by various authors in the past.
متن کاملNumerical Solution of Non-Self-Adjoint Sturm-Liouville Problems and Related Systems
This paper gives the analysis and numerics underlying a shooting method for approximating the eigenvalues of nonselfadjoint Sturm-Liouville problems. We consider even order problems with (equally divided) separated boundary conditions. The method can nd the eigenvalues in a rectangle and in a left half-plane. It combines the argument principle with the compound matrix method (using the Magnus e...
