On the Power of Randomization for Scheduling Real-Time Traffic in Wireless Networks

چکیده
In this paper, we consider the problem of scheduling real-time traffic in wireless networks under a conflict-graph interference model and single-hop traffic. The objective is to guarantee that at least certain fraction packets each link are delivered within their deadlines, which referred as delivery ratio. This has been studied before restrictive frame-based models, or greedy maximal schemes like LDF (Largest-Deficit First) can lead poor ratio for general patterns. pursue different approach through randomization over choice links transmit time. We design randomized policies collocated networks, multi-partite achieve ratios much higher than what achievable by LDF. Further, our results apply any (arrival deadline) process evolves an unknown positive recurrent Markov chain. Hence, work improvement with respect both efficiency assumptions compared past work. further present extensive simulation various patterns graphs illustrate gains variants.

Real Time Scheduling for Wireless Sensor Networks
In this paper we propose a new scheduling algorithm called Real Time Scheduling (RTS). This algorithm deals with all the contributing components of the end-to-end travelling delay of data packets in sensor network to achieve better power management and stable routes in case of failure. RTS delays packets at intermediate hops (not just prioritizes them) for a duration that is a function of their...
متن کاملReal-Time Scheduling in Wireless Networks
We study a canonical real-time scheduling problem for time-slotted collocated wireless networks serving users with diverse real-time requirements and wireless loss patterns arising from fading. We study two traffic patterns: periodic arrivals with deadline equal to period, and renewal arrivals, in which a new packet from a user arrives when the current one leaves. Wireless channel conditions ar...

The desire to provide universal connectivity for mobile computers and communication devices is fueling a growing interest in wireless packet networks. To satisfy the needs of wireless data networking, study group 802.11 was formed under IEEE project 802 to recommend an international standard for Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs). A key part of the standard are the Medium Access Control (MAC)...
متن کاملEfficient link scheduling for online admission control of real-time traffic in wireless mesh networks
Link scheduling is used in Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) to guarantee interference-free transmission on the shared wireless medium in a Time Division Multiple Access approach. Several papers in the literature address the problem of link scheduling guaranteeing a minimum throughput to the flows traversing the WMN. However, none of the existing works address the problem of computing a schedule th...
متن کاملOptimal joint routing and link scheduling for real-time traffic in TDMA Wireless Mesh Networks
We investigate the problem of joint routing and link scheduling in Time-Division Multiple Access (TDMA) Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) carrying real-time traffic. We propose a framework that always computes a feasible solution (i.e. a set of paths and link activations) if there exists one, by optimally solving a mixed integer-non linear problem. Such solution can be computed in minutes or tens t...
