Online mathematics programs and the figured world of primary school mathematics in the digital era

Internet access and the availability of digital devices in classrooms have been growing exponentially. This has led to development subscription-based online platforms for mathematics learning, available purchase by schools individuals. Currently, research education tends focus on benefits teaching learning technologies, while less attention is given use commercial applications mathematics, rationale choosing these resources, or consideration how they might fundamentally change shape our schools. paper reports a survey sent leaders all Aotearoa New Zealand, attaining 24% response rate. Schools appeared provide great variety experiences including programs. Many different programs were utilised schools, majority operate business profit within state-funded school systems. The theoretical construct ‘figured worlds’ was used understand leaders’ rationales using Leaders gave contrasting conflicting reasons their choices: discourses neoliberalism, reform teaching, traditionalism Ed-tech evident responses. results suggest that this era market competition, face pressure programmes are simultaneously traditional, modern, high-tech balanced.
