چکیده
Abstract Optical vortices (OVs) carrying orbital angular momentum (OAM) have attracted considerable interest in the field of optics and photonics owing to their peculiar optical features extra degree freedom for information. Although there been significant efforts realize OVs using conventional optics, it is limited by large volume, high cost, lack design flexibility. metasurfaces recently tremendous due unprecedented capability manipulation amplitude, phase, polarization, frequency light at a subwavelength scale. revolutionized concepts photonics, providing new platform develop ultrathin devices realization resolution. In this article, we will review recent progress metasurface-based OVs. We provide comprehensive discussion on OVs, including OAM superposition, sorting, multiplexing, holography, nonlinear generation manipulation. The rapid development metasurface play an important role many relevant research fields. expect that fuel continuous wearable portable consumer electronics where low-cost miniaturized related systems are demand.

Divergence of optical vortex beams.
We show, both theoretically and experimentally, that the propagation of optical vortices in free space can be analyzed by using the width [w(z)] of the host Gaussian beam and the inner and outer radii of the vortex beam at the source plane (z=0) as defined in [Opt. Lett.39, 4364 (2014)10.1364/OL.39.004364OPLEDP0146-9592]. We also studied the divergence of vortex beams, considered as the rate of...
متن کاملManipulating nonlinear optical processes with accelerating light beams
We show theoretically that accelerating light beams can be used to manipulate nonlinear optical processes through spatiotemporal quasi-phase-matching, allowing for unprecedented temporal and spectral shaping of the generated light. As a proof of principle, we demonstrate exquisite control over the high-order harmonic frequency conversion process, showing efficient enhancement of an extremely br...
متن کاملStructured caustic vector vortex optical field: manipulating optical angular momentum flux and polarization rotation
A caustic vector vortex optical field is experimentally generated and demonstrated by a caustic-based approach. The desired caustic with arbitrary acceleration trajectories, as well as the structured states of polarization (SoP) and vortex orders located in different positions in the field cross-section, is generated by imposing the corresponding spatial phase function in a vector vortex optica...
متن کاملHigh-Order Dielectric Metasurfaces for High-Efficiency Polarization Beam Splitters and Optical Vortex Generators
In this paper, a high-order dielectric metasurface based on silicon nanobrick array is proposed and investigated. By controlling the length and width of the nanobricks, the metasurfaces could supply two different incremental transmission phases for the X-linear-polarized (XLP) and Y-linear-polarized (YLP) light with extremely high efficiency over 88%. Based on the designed metasurface, two pola...
متن کاملExcitation of Multipole Plasmons by Optical Vortex Beams
Localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) has been shown to exhibit a strong potential for nanoscale electromagnetic field manipulation beyond the diffraction limit. Particularly dark mode plasmons circumvent radiation loss and store the energy long in time, which raise the prospect of interesting plasmonics applications, for example biochemical sensing and nanoscale lasing. Here we theoretica...
