چکیده
In the context of Radioastronomic applications where Analog Radio-over-Fiber technology is used for antenna downlink, detrimental nonlinearity effects arise because interference between forward signal generated by laser and Rayleigh backscattered one which re-forwarded itself toward photodetector. The adoption so called dithering technique, involves direct modulation with a sinusoidal tone takes advantage chirping phenomenon, has been proved to reduce such Back Scattering - induced nonlinearities. frequency amplitude xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">dithering tone should both be as low possible, in order avoid undesired collateral on received spectrum well keep at levels global energy consumption. Through comprehensive analysis xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">dithered Radio over Fiber systems, it demonstrated that progressive reduction affects peculiar fashion characteristics field emitted pattern fiber end. Accounting concurrent caused phenomena, optimal operating conditions are identified implementation technique radioastronomic systems.

WDM Ring based Access Network mitigating Rayleigh Backscattering Noise
In this paper it is proposed and investigate a Wavelength Division Multiplexing Passive Optical Network (WDM-PON) ring providing Rayleigh backscattering (RB) noise reduction. Besides, the ring-based architecture also could reduce the RB beat noise .This is possible because RB and upstream signal are moving in opposite direction. In the proposed PON system, we have discussed and did analysis cha...

A frequency-modulated continuous-wave technique is used to detect the presence of frequency shifts in the Rayleigh-backscattered light in a single-mode optical fiber as a result of a changing temperature. The system is able to detect a rate of temperature change of 0.014 K/s, when a 20-cm length of fiber is heated. The system is also able to demonstrate a spatial resolution of better than 15 cm.

The first seagoing test of a prototype laser/fiber-optic system for in situ detection of ocean chlorophyll fluorescence is described. Radiation at 488 nm originating from a shipboard argon laser was transmitted through 20 of 200-microm core optical fiber to the distal tip mounted on the microstructure profiler, the Rapid Sampling Vertical Profiler. The backscattered fluorescence emission signal...

We propose and experimentally demonstrate a hybrid radio-over-fiber (ROF) wavelength division multiplexed and time division multiplexed passive optical network (WDM-TDM PON) architecture to mitigate Rayleigh backscattering (RB) interferometric beat noises. Here, only a single wavelength is needed at the central office (CO) to generate the downstream baseband data for optical wired application a...
