Optimal transfer functions for bandwidth-limited imaging

چکیده
One of the fundamental limits classical optical microscopy is diffraction limit resolution. It results from finite bandwidth transfer function (or OTF) an microscope, which restricts maximum spatial frequencies that are transmitted by a microscope. However, given frequency support OTF, fully determined used hardware, open and unsolved question what optimal amplitude phase distribution across this delivers ``sharpest'' possible image. In paper, we will answer present general rule how to find OTF for any imaging system. We discuss our result in context microscopy, considering particular cases wide-field confocal image scanning (ISM), 4pi structured illumination (SIM). Our important finding deconvolution algorithms images, demonstrate experimentally on example ISM. They can also serve as guideline designing systems deliver best be easily generalized nonoptical such telescopic imaging, ultrasound or magnetic resonance imaging.

Optimal Bandwidth Selection for Nonparametric Conditional Distribution and Quantile Functions
Li & Racine (2008) consider the nonparametric estimation of conditional cumulative distribution functions (CDF) in the presence of discrete and continuous covariates along with the associated conditional quantile function. However, they did not propose an optimal data-driven method of bandwidth selection and left this important problem as an ‘open question’. In this paper we propose an automati...
متن کاملDetermination of optimal bandwidth in upscaling process of reservoir data using kernel function bandwidth
Upscaling based on the bandwidth of the kernel function is a flexible approach to upscale the data because the cells will be coarse-based on variability. The intensity of the coarsening of cells in this method can be controlled with bandwidth. In a smooth variability region, a large number of cells will be merged, and vice versa, they will remain fine with severe variability. Bandwidth variatio...
متن کاملOptimal Process Control of Symbolic Transfer Functions
Transfer function modeling is a standard technique in classical Linear Time Invariant and Statistical Process Control. The work of Box and Jenkins was seminal in developing methods for identifying parameters associated with classical (r, s, k) transfer functions. Computing systems are often fundamentally discrete and feedback control in these situations may require discrete event systems for mo...
متن کاملIntelligent communication filtering for limited bandwidth environments
We advocate a new architecture for distributed systems supporting mobility. In this architecture an intermediary is interposed between client and server. Its purpose is to lter or delay all but the most essential data that would travel over the slow link to the mobile host, as instructed by the client. The goal of our work is to provide a general framework to ease the installation and managemen...
متن کاملOptimal energy transfer in band-limited communication channels
Maximization of the energy transfer ratio for timelimited signals over linear channels is considered. The case of linear channels with rational transfer function is addressed and a general procedure for the analytic solution of the maximization problem is outlined. The maximum energy transfer ratio over a fixed time interval is evaluated in some cases of interest. Two performance metrics—the en...
