Optimization of cadmium ions biosorption by fish scale from aqueous solutions using factorial design analysis and Monte Carlo simulation studies

This work investigated cadmium ions biosorption on Fish scales (FS) of Sardina pilchardus. Different relevant parameters such as initial pH in the range 2.14–7.76, concentration from 35 to 150 mg L?1, and biosorbent dose 50–300 were examined. The effect these removal was analyzed optimized using full factorial design methodology analysis variance. kinetics modelized for pseudo-second order pseudo-first models. Results showed that kinetic gave best fit equilibrium data. isotherms Freundlich Langmuir isotherm model led a maximum capacity Cd(II) FS 52.08 g?1. results indicated effective ions. Optimum 88.2 % calculated 3, 75 L?1 250 FS. Monte Carlo simulation used relatively greener pathway study behavior onto It interaction – hydroxyapatite more favored than collagen.
