Organizational Change: The Challenge of Change Aversion

Organizational change has been investigated for decades, with many works addressing adoption challenges. Change aversion, like resistance, is not uncommon, but going unchecked can reduce organizational initiative success. This communication aims to provide a concise in-road students and practitioners the aversion literature. An attempt made enter this complicated discussion in way that may assist reader understanding what is, how vital acceptance of there are operational practices facilitate culture acceptance. Aversion result from factors, including (but limited to) fear unknown, discomfort over potential loss control, instinctive tendency prefer familiar unfamiliar. However, despite advancements administration inevitable moments, challenges related resistance always occur, particularly lacking effective leadership. Leadership address early, thus more readily guaranteeing positive productive outcome. Offering employees quality jobs an inclusive, empathetic, considerate environment lead early buy-in acceptance, thereby improving long-term organization efficiencies outputs. Ultimately, initiatives most likely succeed enabling businesses remain competitive continuously evolving environment.
