Origin of Galactic Sub-PeV Diffuse Gamma-Ray Emission: Constraints from High-energy Neutrino Observations

چکیده
Very recently, diffuse gamma rays with $0.1\,{\rm PeV}<E_\gamma <1\,\rm PeV$ have been discovered from the Galactic disk by Tibet air shower array and muon detector (Tibet AS+MD array). While measured sub-PeV flux may be compatible hadronic origin in conventional cosmic ray propagation model, we find that it is possible tension non-detection of neutrino emissions IceCube telescope. We further presence an extra component relatively hard spectrum, which probably related to Cygnus Cocoon region other PeV cosmic-ray sources disk, would alleviate tension. This scenario implies existence extreme accelerator either protons or electrons beyond region, predicts continuation gamma-ray spectrum up 1 a hardening $\sim 30-100\,$TeV.

The diffuse neutrino flux from the inner Galaxy: constraints from very high energy gamma-ray observations
Recently, the MILAGRO collaboration reported on the detection of a diffuse multiTeV emission from a region of the Galactic disk close to the inner Galaxy. The emission is in excess of what is predicted by conventional models for cosmic ray propagation, which are tuned to reproduce the spectrum of cosmic rays observed locally. By assuming that the excess detected by MILAGRO is of hadronic origin...
متن کاملSearch for High Energy Neutrino Emission from Gamma - Ray Bursts
The photo-meson production of pions by shock-accelerated protons could generate a burst of ∼ 10 14 eV neutrinos from gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) observable in the Antarctic Muon and Neutrino Detector Array (AMANDA) or its larger successors. Measurement of this flux can test the hypothesis that GRBs are the sources of the highest-energy cosmic rays, and GRB neutrinos could permit high-precision expe...
متن کاملDiffuse Galactic Soft Gamma-Ray Emission
The Galactic diffuse soft gamma-ray (30-800 keV) emission has been measured from the Galactic Center by the HIREGS balloon-borne germanium spectrometer to determine the spectral characteristics and origin of the emission. The resulting Galactic diffuse continuum is found to agree well with a single power-law (plus positronium) over the entire energy range, consistent with RXTE and COMPTEL/CGRO ...
متن کاملHigh Energy Gamma-ray Emission from Blazars: Egret Observations
We will present a summary of the observations of blazars by the Energetic Gamma Ray Experiment Telescope (EGRET) on the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory (CGRO). EGRET has detected high energy γray emission at energies greater than 100 MeV from more that 50 blazars. These sources show inferred isotropic luminosities as large as 3× 10 ergs s. One of the most remarkable characteristics of the EGRET o...
متن کاملDiffuse gamma-ray emission: Galactic and extra- galactic
Here is reviewed our current understanding of Galactic and extragalactic diffuse γ-ray emission. The spectrum of the extragalactic γ-ray background above 30 MeV can be well described by a power law with photon index α=2.1. In the 2-10 MeV range a preliminary analysis of COMPTEL data indicates a lower intensity than previously found, with no evidence for an MeV bump. Most of the models of a trul...
