Outcome and Complications of Rectal Tube Placement in Intestinal Obstruction Due to Sigmoid Volvulus

Background: The most common site of colon volvulus is in the sigmoid and then cecum transverse colon. aim this study was to evaluate results rectal tube placement as an initial treatment for devaluation volvulus. Materials Methods: In cross-sectional study, 60 patients with admitted emergency department Imam Reza Sina Teaching Hospitals due intestinal obstruction were undergone blind placement. After discharge, followed up two 1 month 6 months intervals, so rate recovery, relapse, or mortality patient (in case patient’s death) investigated.
