چکیده
Abstract Aim Primary ventral hernias and incisional are frequent, but long–term results of their repair with a preformed patch scarce. The aim was to evaluate the surgical treatment these open intraperitoneal onlay mesh (open IPOM) technique, determine needed follow–up for recurrence. Material methods Observational retrospective single institution study all consecutive patients intervened or hernia diameter inferior 4 cm, from January 2013 June 2020. performed according IPOM technique defect left unclosed. Relapsed hernias, those ≥ lateral wall were excluded. Results A total 146 intervened: 61.6% umbilical 8.2% epigastric 26.7% trocar 3.4% other hernias. global recurrence rate 7.5% (11/146). Specifically, there it 7.8% in 0% 7.7% 20% (1/5) median time 14 months (IQR: 4,4–18,7). presential 17,4 6,5–27,3), telematic follow-up 36,9 27,2–49,6). Conclusions offers good 2-year is still diagnosis. Note used Parietex™ Composite Ventral Patch (Medtronic, Minneapolis, MN, EEUU).

Intraperitoneal Mesh Repair for Incisional Hernia
Seventy-three patients who had incisional hernia repair at two hospitals, a government and a private, from 2000 to 2005 were reviewed. Fifty-nine (80.8%) patients were females and 52 (71.2%) patients were Saudi. Five (6.8%) patients had minor complications. Twenty-four (32.9%) patients had polypropylene mesh while 49 (67.1%) patients had vypro mesh, both types where fixed intraperitoneally usin...
متن کاملLaparoscopic intraperitoneal onlay mesh for pediatric incisional hernia—a case report
BACKGROUND The incidence of incisional hernia in pediatric patients is low in comparison with that reported in adults. In the pediatric population, primary closure has generally been favored. However, synthetic or biomedical mesh offers advantages in the repair of larger defects when primary closure is difficult. The use of laparoscopic intraperitoneal onlay mesh (IPOM) in the adult population ...
متن کاملLaparoscopic ventral hernia repair: a comparative study of transabdominal preperitoneal versus intraperitoneal onlay mesh repair.
BACKGROUND Laparoscopic ventral hernia repair is evolving rapidly worldwide to become a standard procedure. The purpose of this study was to compare the benefits, effectiveness, and postoperative outcome of laparoscopic transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP) and intraperitoneal onlay mesh (IPOM) repair of ventral hernia. PATIENTS AND METHODS Prospectively collected data of 279 patients who under...
متن کاملSurgical mesh for ventral incisional hernia repairs: Understanding mesh design.
Surgical mesh has become an indispensable tool in hernia repair to improve outcomes and reduce costs; however, efforts are constantly being undertaken in mesh development to overcome postoperative complications. Common complications include infection, pain, adhesions, mesh extrusion and hernia recurrence. Reducing the complications of mesh implantation is of utmost importance given that hernias...

OBJECTIVE To describe the initial results of open ventral hernia repair by sublay placement of the self-expanding ring polypropylene patch (Kugel patch). METHODS Twenty-four patients with ventral/incisional hernias were operated upon with this technique between December 2004 and August 2008 in the Department of General Surgery, Affiliated Zhong-Da Hospital, Southeast University, Nanjing, Jian...
