چکیده
In this paper, we study the average packet error probability (APEP) and effective throughput (ET) of control link in unmanned-aerial-vehicle (UAV) communications, where ground central station (GCS) sends signals to UAV that requires ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC). To ensure low latency, short packets are adopted for signal. As a result, Shannon capacity theorem cannot be here due its assumption infinite channel blocklength. We consider both free space (FS) 3-Dimensional (3D) models by assuming locations randomly distributed within restricted space. first characterize statistical characteristics signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) FS 3D models. Then, closed-form analytical expressions APEP ET derived using Gaussian-Chebyshev quadrature. Also, lower bounds obtain more insights. Finally, optimal value length with objective maximizing applying one-dimensional search. Our results verified Monte-Carlo simulations.

Sparse Vector Coding for Ultra-Reliable and Low Latency Communications
Ultra reliable and low latency communication (URLLC) is a newly introduced service category in 5G to support delay-sensitive applications. In order to support this new service category, 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) sets an aggressive requirement that a packet should be delivered with 10-5 block error rate within 1 msec transmission period. Since the current wireless standard design...

This paper reviews the state of the art channel coding techniques for ultra-reliable low latency communication (URLLC). The stringent requirements of URLLC services, such as ultra-high reliability and low latency, have made it the most challenging feature of the fifth generation (5G) mobile systems. The problem is even more challenging for the services beyond the 5G promise, such as tele-surger...

Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communication (URLLC) is one of the distinctive features of the upcoming 5G wireless communication, going down to packet error rates (PER) of 10−9. In this paper we discuss the statistical properties of the wireless channel models that are relevant for characterization of the lower tail of the Cumulative Distribution Function (CDF). We show that, for a wide range of c...
