چکیده
The DLR Future Fighter Demonstrator (FFD) is a highly agile, two-seated aircraft with twin-engines equipped, reheat and design flight speed extending into the supersonic regime (up to Ma=2.0). Based on given conceptual design, presented work focuses aeroelastic modeling, including structures, masses aerodynamics. Using models, comprehensive loads analysis 688 maneuver load cases, covering whole envelope, performed. Comparing results obtained from aerodynamic panel methods (VLM ZONA51) higher fidelity CFD, necessity of CFD based in preliminary such fighter configuration shown, as it leads physically different well loads. rigorous application heavy burden during but this demonstrates that doable today. Finally, model subject structural optimization, demonstrating differences result heavier primary net mass ≈3.3t for approach ≈4.1t approach. Because all remaining models are unchanged, difference can be clearly attributed physical flow solutions CFD.

Nonlinear Aeroelastic Modeling and Analysis of Fully Flexible Aircraft
This paper introduces an approach to effectively model the nonlinear aeroelastic behavior of fully flexible aircraft. The study is conducted based on a nonlinear strainedbased finite element framework in which the developed low-order formulation captures the nonlinear (large) deflection behavior of the wings, and the unsteady subsonic aerodynamic forces acting on them. Instead of merely conside...
متن کامل26th INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF THE AERONAUTICAL SCIENCES PREDICTION OF HELICOPTER MANEUVER LOADS USING A COUPLED CFD/CSD ANALYSIS
A fluid-structure analysis framework which couples Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Computational Structural Dynamics (CSD) is constructed to study the aero-mechanics of a helicopter rotor system under maneuvering flight conditions. The CFD approach consists of the solution of Unsteady Reynolds Average Navier Stokes (URANS) equations for the near-field of the rotor coupled with the dynami...
متن کاملNonlinear Aeroelastic Analysis of Joined-wing Aircraft
Joined-wing aircraft are being designed for ‘sensorcraft’ configuration. Joined wings lead to multiple load paths and constraints. The focus of this work is to understand the nonlinear structural as well as aeroelastic behavior of joined wings. The paper presents a formulation for the nonlinear aeroelastic analysis of joined wings. Results are presented for two joined wings configurations. Over...
متن کاملIntegrated Parametric Aircraft Design
Driven by the inspiration to develop a new aircraft that incorporates all fields of aeronautical engineering, the focal point of this designapproach is the geometric modelling. Since innovative technologies need to be included in novel configurations, every new idea has to be modelled in a comprehensible manner. Feedbacks coming from the analysed models are easily integrated in the next iterati...
