Particle Video Revisited: Tracking Through Occlusions Using Point Trajectories

چکیده
Tracking pixels in videos is typically studied as an optical flow estimation problem, where every pixel described with a displacement vector that locates it the next frame. Even though wider temporal context freely available, prior efforts to take this into account have yielded only small gains over 2-frame methods. In paper, we revisit Sand and Teller’s “particle video” approach, study tracking long-range motion trajectory multiple future frames. We re-build classic approach using components drive current state-of-the-art object tracking, such dense cost maps, iterative optimization, learned appearance updates. train our models amodal point trajectories mined from existing data synthetically augment multi-frame occlusions. test benchmarks keypoint label propagation tasks, compare favorably against feature

A Memory-Based Particle Filter for Visual Tracking through Occlusions
Visual detection and target tracking are interdisciplinary tasks oriented to estimate the state of moving objects in an image sequence. There are different techniques focused on this problem. It is worth highlighting particle filters and Kalman filters as two of the most important tracking algorithms in the literature. In this paper, we presented a visual tracking algorithm which combines the p...
متن کاملTracking Ants Through Occlusions
The automated tracking of social insects, such as ants, could greatly increase the speed and reliability of gathering data used in studying their complex behaviors. Recently, data association based multipleobject tracking approaches have shown promise in improving tracking during occlusion. However, due to the high density and occlusion rate present in ant video, tracking is still prone to (1) ...
متن کاملAnalysis of video-based microscopic particle trajectories using Kalman filtering.
The fidelity of the trajectories obtained from video-based particle tracking determines the success of a variety of biophysical techniques, including in situ single cell particle tracking and in vitro motility assays. However, the image acquisition process is complicated by system noise, which causes positioning error in the trajectories derived from image analysis. Here, we explore the possibi...
متن کاملFiber Tracking in q-Ball Fields Using Regularized Particle Trajectories
Most of the approaches dedicated to fiber tracking from diffusion-weighted MR data rely on a tensor model. However, the tensor model can only resolve a single fiber orientation within each imaging voxel. New emerging approaches have been proposed to obtain a better representation of the diffusion process occurring in fiber crossing. In this paper, we adapt a tracking algorithm to the q-ball rep...
متن کاملLong-range video motion estimation using point trajectories
This thesis describes a new approach to video motion estimation, in which motion is represented using a set of particles. Each particle is an image point sample with a long-duration trajectory and other properties. To optimize these particles, we measure point-based matching along the particle trajectories and distortion between the particles. The resulting motion representation is useful for a...
