Passive Impedance-Matched Neural Recording Systems for Improved Signal Sensitivity

Wireless passive neural recording systems integrate sensory electrophysiological interfaces with a backscattering-based telemetry system. Despite the circuit simplicity and miniaturization this topology, high electrode–tissue impedance creates major barrier to achieving signal sensitivity low power. In paper, buffered is utilized address limitation. The resulting telemetry-based wireless implemented thin flexible packages. Thus, paper reports implants integrator three improved features: (1) matching simple buffer circuit, (2) bypass capacitor route frequency improve mixer performance, (3) system packaging an integrated, flexible, biocompatible patch capture signal. consists of U-slot dual-band antenna that receives transmitted power from interrogator backscatters modulated carrier at different frequency. When incoming was 5–10 dBm, neurosensor could communicate maximum distance 5 cm. A biosignal as 80 µV peak detected receiver.
