The Homeostatic Model Assessment (HOMA) triglycerides/glucose index (TyG) are good marker IR. We aimed investigate the relationship between TyG both semen hormonal characteristics in cohort primary infertile men. METHODS: Complete demographic, clinical laboratory data from 726 consecutive men (infertility defined according WHO definition) were considered. Health-significant comorbidities scored Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI). Serum hormone, analyses (based on 2010 reference criteria) sperm fragmentation (DFI) measured every patient. Glucose, triglycerides levels after 12-h overnight fast, HOMA-IR indices calculated classified using 2.6 threshold (as Ascaso et al. 2003) 8.1 Kang 2017), respectively. Descriptive statistics logistic regression models tested association milieu parameters. RESULTS: Median (IQR) age was 39 (35-43) years. HOMA suggestive for IR found 339 (46.6%) 154 (21.2%) patients, respectively 121 (16.7%) had both. At Spearman’s test, correlated score (rho = 0.46, p<0.001). Compared normal TyG, TyG>8.1 older [37 (34-41) vs. years], greater BMI [24.5 (23-27) 26 (24-28) kg/m2] CCI scores (0 vs 1), lower total testosterone [4.5 (3.4-5.6) 4.2 (3.1-5.5)] concentration [8.0 (1.5-25.0) 12 (2.8-30)], but higher DFI [38.2 (23-54) 28.0 (18-48)] presented proportion NOA (24.8% 16.3%) (all p<0.01). multivariable analysis, at risk [OR 1.78 (CI: 1.1-2.8)] DFI>30 1.92 1.2-2.9)], accounting patient age, CCI, FSH values, testicular volume.
