We sought evaluate the prevalence, predictors, management trend over time for RARC. METHODS: reviewed our departmental quality assurance database RARC (2005-2020). Patients who developed UES were identified. Data was analyzed demographics perioperative variables. described in terms timing, laterality management. Multivariable analysis used identify variables associated with UES. Kaplan Meir curves depict RESULTS: Out 671 patients undergoing RARC, 101 (15%) They occurred at rate 9%, 14% 18% 6 months, 1 year 3 years respectively (Figure). Strictures on right 31%, left 49 % bilateral 20%. Initial endoscopic 65% percutaneous 35%. Eventually, reimplantation performed 44% (open 13% robotic 31%). had higher body mass index (30±6 vs 29±6, p=0.03), lower eGFR (ml/min) 90 days (61 72, p=0.02), acute kidney injury within (22% 12 %, p=0.01), urinary tract infections (UTI) (54% 36%, p=0.01) recurrent UTI (13% 4 p <0.01) (Table). Congestive heart failure (OR 2.83, CI 1.12 -7.18, p=0.03) neoadjuvant chemotherapy 1.76, – 2.77, stricture formation. CONCLUSIONS: 15% required almost half cases. Robot-assisted radical cystectomy.
Robot-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC) has rapidly penetrated the field of urology since its inception in 2003. Several observational studies, retrospective reports, and three randomized controlled trials (RCT) have preliminarily demonstrated the safety and efficacy of (RARC). Additionally, results from the RAZOR RCT will be available in 2016-2017 to better substantiate the use of (RARC).
متن کاملComplications after robot-assisted radical cystectomy: results from the International Robotic Cystectomy Consortium.
BACKGROUND Complication reporting is highly variable and nonstandardized. Therefore, it is imperative to determine the surgical outcomes of major oncologic procedures. OBJECTIVE To describe the complications after robot-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC) using a standardized and validated reporting methodology. DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTICIPANTS Using the International Robotic Cystectomy Con...

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the emerging role of robotic-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC) in the management of bladder cancer. METHODS Review of the published literature on robotic-assisted radical cystectomy, including data from our cystectomy series of 30 patients. RESULTS Nearly 150 procedures have been performed worldwide. The benefits of robotic-assisted operations are similar to those of ...
متن کاملImpact of Previous Abdominal Surgery on Robot-Assisted Radical Cystectomy
OBJECTIVE We analyzed the effect of previous abdominal surgery (PAS) on consecutive patients who underwent robot-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC). MATERIALS AND METHODS From 2005 to 2008, 73 patients at a single institution underwent RARC with bilateral extended pelvic lymph node dissection and urinary diversion. Lysis of adhesions was performed robotically and laparoscopically. Records wer...
متن کاملThe Learning Curve for Robot-Assisted Radical Cystectomy
OBJECTIVE Robot-assisted radical cystectomy has the potential to cure patients from bladder cancer while offering the benefits of minimally invasive surgery. We sought to evaluate the learning curve for this technically demanding procedure. MATERIALS AND METHODS Robot-assisted radical cystectomy was attempted in 100 consecutive patients. An IRB-approved review of our robot-assisted radical cy...
