چکیده

Researchers have recently turned their attention to examining interactive effects of dimensions perfectionism in sport and exercise. This is typified by research testing the 2 × model (Gaudreau & Thompson, 2010) use simple slopes analysis probe statistically significant interactions. The aim this study illustrate a different approach interactions, Johnson-Neyman (J-N) technique, how it can identify specific level evaluative concerns at which effect personal standards changes (termed perfectionistic tipping point). To meet aim, secondary was undertaken three samples that previously provided evidence interactions between predicting devaluation, dedication, enthusiasm, expressive suppression. Using J-N points were identified whereby conditional PSP became for each outcome low-to-moderate levels ECP. In case, ECP outside tested making useful complementary information. Based on findings, recommended researchers report when probing perfectionism, generally.

Disentangling the Common Variance of Perfectionistic Strivings and Perfectionistic Concerns: A Bifactor Model of Perfectionism

Perfectionism nowadays is frequently understood as a multidimensional personality trait with two higher-order dimensions of perfectionistic strivings and perfectionistic concerns. While perfectionistic concerns are robustly found to correlate with negative outcomes and psychological malfunctioning, findings concerning the outcomes of perfectionistic strivings are inconsistent. There is evidence...

Dimensions of perfectionism and perfectionistic self-presentation in social phobia.

In a cross sectional study we examined the dimensions of perfectionism and perfectionistic self-presentation in patients with social phobia. We also examined associations between perfectionism and self-report of anxiety and depression with fear of negative evaluation. Thirty patients with a diagnosis of social phobia and 30 community volunteers completed two measures of trait perfectionism, fea...

Ambiguous Tipping Points∗

We analyze the policy implications of aversion to Knightian uncertainty (or ambiguity) about the possibility of tipping points. We demonstrate two channels through which uncertainty aversion affects optimal policy in the general setting. The first channel relates to the policy’s effect on the probability of tipping, and the second channel to its differential impact in the preand post-tipping re...

Tipping Points in Schelling Segregation

Thomas Schelling’s spacial proximity model illustrated how racial segregation can emerge, unwanted, from the actions of citizens acting in accordance with their individual local preferences. One of the earliest agent-based models, it is closely related both to the spin-1 models of statistical physics, and to cascading phenomena on networks. Here a 1-dimensional unperturbed variant of the model ...

Interactive comment on “ Early warning signals of tipping points in periodically forced systems ”

At least, the bulk of the paper is dedicated to this topic and they use "here we find..." and "we show that..." and similar formulations to indicate that their approach is new. In my opinion, the major problem I see with this work is that the authors did not seem to make enough of an effort to link and/or base their results on previously available mathematical techniques. I will give the author...
