Performance Analysis of a Two–Tile Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface Assisted 2 × 2 MIMO System

We consider a two-tile reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) assisted wireless network with two-antenna transmitter and receiver over Rayleigh fading. show that the average received signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) optimal combining transmission vectors are given by left right singular spaces of RIS-receiver transmit-RIS channel matrices, respectively. Moreover, phases at two tiles RIS determined elements latter spaces. To further study effect phase compensation, we statistically characterize SNR all possible combinations directions pertaining to deriving novel expressions for outage probability throughput each those modes. Furthermore, comparison, derive corresponding in absence RIS. Our results an approximate improvement 2 dB due compensation
