چکیده
A numerical hydrodynamic performance analysis of the pitch-type multibody wave energy converter (WEC) is carried out based on both linear potential flow theory and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in unidirectional condition. In present study, Salterâs duck (rotor) chosen for analysis. The basic concept WEC rotor, which nods when pressure-induced motions are phase, that it converts kinetic energies into rotational mechanical with proper power-take-off system. This converted to useful electric energy. using three rotors. performed WAMIT (three-dimensional diffraction/radiation program), a CFD by placing rotors tank. particular, spacing between set 0.8, 1, 1.2 times rotor width, interaction adjacent checked. Finally, confirmed dynamic slightly changes, but difference due not noticeable. addition, shows lateral phenomenon cannot be theory, necessary motion rotor.

Like all other floating structures, wave energy converters (WECs) need to be kept in position by station-keeping systems in order to realize its functionality and ensure its safety. However, WECs based on relative motions impose special requirements on their mooring systems to ensure ...
متن کاملCoordinated Control of Wave Energy Converters Subject to Motion Constraints
Abstract: In this paper, a generic coordinated control method for wave energy converters is proposed, and the constraints on motion amplitudes and the hydrodynamic interaction between converters are considered. The objective of the control problem is to maximize the energy converted from ocean waves, and this is achieved by coordinating the power take-off (PTO) damping of each wave energy conve...

متن کاملOn the Effects of Geometry Control on the Performance of Overtopping Wave Energy Converters
Overtopping wave energy converters (OWECs) are designed to extract energy from ocean waves based on wave overtopping into a reservoir, which is emptied into the ocean through a set of low-head turbines, and typically feature a low crest freeboard and a smooth impermeable steep slope. In the process of optimizing the performance of OWECs, the question arises whether adapting the slope geometry t...
