Performance and security enhancement using generalized optimal unified power flow controller under contingency conditions and renewable energy penetrations

Abstract In this paper, a novel flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) device named generalized optimal unified power flow controller (GOUPFC) is introduced to control the flows in multi lines and regulate voltages angles at load buses. The detailed injection modeling of GOUPFC presented paper. location determined based on line collapse proximity indicator (LCPI). A multi-objective function framed terms average voltage deviation (AVDI), real loss ( P ) (LCPI avg test effectiveness proposed device. simulation studies are performed standard IEEE 57-bus under single contingency considering various renewable energy source (RES) penetrations. parameters optimized by using whale optimization (WO-BAT) algorithm, hybridizing WOA BAT algorithms, superiority WO-BAT observed minimizing objective enhancing profile.
