Millimetre-wave 65nm CMOS Class C Oscillator at 65 GHz
A 65-GHz Class-C LC oscillator designed in 65nm CMOS technology by ST Microelectronics is presented. A three spiral transformer has been used to achieve low phase noise and low power consumption. Post-layout simulations show a phase noise is equal to -88.4 dBc/Hz at 1-MHz offset from the carrier (65.8 GHz). The power consumption is 14 mW with 1.2-V supply voltage. The oscillator is capable to o...
متن کاملPerformance Evaluation of CMOS Varactors for Wireless RF Applications
CMOS varactors are important components for the integration of tunable RF filters and VCO’s. This paper presents a performance evaluation and comparison of three different types of CMOS varactors based on measurements. The tested varactor types are: p to n-well junction, Standard Mode nMOS and Accumulation Mode nMOS. The performance of each varactor type with respect to capacitance ratio and qu...
متن کاملAdaptive Antenna Arrays for Ad-Hoc Millimetre-Wave Wireless Communications
New technologies that employ millimetre-wave frequency bands to achieve high speed wireless links are gaining more attention (Dyadyuk et. al., 2007, 2009b, 2010a; Hirata et. al., 2006; Lockie & Peck, 2009; Kasugi et. al., 2009; Wells, 2009) due to increasing demand for wideband wireless communications. Very wide uncongested spectrum is available in the E—bands (71-76 GHz and 81-86 GHz) recently...
