چکیده

Machining is a prominent manufacturing method used in automobile, aerospace, and marine industries. Most of the materials that are frequently consumed such industries difficult to machine via conventional techniques. Difficult-to-cut require advanced processing approaches, better cooling lubrication conditions. Thus, tend use petroleum-oil-based metal working fluids (POMWF) because their desirable characteristics when applied difficult-to-cut materials. However, POMWFs adversely affect human health environment throughout life cycle. Recently, several scientists have demonstrated vegetable oils tribological properties which make media for machining operations. Hence, authors formulated white-coconut-oil-based water-soluble MWF (COMWF) as an alternative toxic hazardous POMWFs. The performance novel was evaluated by applying minimum quantity approach Inconel 718 AISI 304. experiments were conducted under controlled cutting conditions investigate work-tool interface (WTI) temperature, forces benchmark proposed commercially available synthetic ester based (SEMWF). newly developed green enabled WTI temperatures more than those obtained using SEMWF. A thermophysical model also created software simulate temperature visualize chip formation COMWF effectively selected cut (i.e., 304); furthermore, its potential replacement ensure industrial sustainability demonstrated.

Evaluation of Tool Performance With Nanocrystalline Multilayer Coatings on the Machinability of Superalloy Inconel 718

In this paper, the performance of the cutting tool with nanocrystalline multilayer coatings (TiN+TiAlN) for machining of superalloy Inconel 718 in the dry and wet conditions was studied. The multi layer TiN and TiAlN with nanocrystalline structure was applied by physical vapor deposition technique (arc evaporation) on the WC-Co inserts. The results of the ball on disc wear test and the machinin...

Performance Evaluation and Economic Analysis of Minimum Quantity Lubrication with Pressurized/Non-Pressurized Air and Nanofluid Mixture

Abstract—Water miscible cutting fluids are conventionally used to lubricate and cool the machining zone. But issues related to health hazards, maintenance and disposal costs have limited their usage, leading to application of Minimum Quantity Lubrication (MQL). To increase the effectiveness of MQL, nanocutting fluids are proposed. In the present work, water miscible nanographite cutting fluids ...

Performance Evaluation of Different Types of Cutting Fluid in the Machining of Aisi 01 Hardened Steel Using Pulsed Jet Minimal Quantity Lubrication System

This paper presents the performance evaluation of three different cutting fluids used in a minimal quantity lubrication (MQL) system. The MQL system, developed in-house at the University of Malaya, was capable of delivering high velocity cutting fluid in narrow pulsed jet forms at a rate of 2 ml/min and a pressure of 20 MPa. The three cutting fluids chosen were neat oil, soluble oil and semi-sy...
