Performance Improvement of KCS (Kalina Cycle System) 34 by Replacing Throttle Valve With Single-Screw Expander

In order to recover the energy loss due throttling in path of ammonia-lean solution Kalina Cycle System (KCS) 34, two redesigned cycles, which single-screw expanders that can perform two-phase expansion are used replace throttle valve, proposed this paper. The results show thermal efficiency and net work cycles higher than those original KCS 34. With concentration increase ammonia-water mixture, produced by expander B gradually decreases, difference between also decreases. 34 have high exergy efficiency. highest cycle 56.59% be obtained II-redesigned when evaporation pressure is 3.0 MPa 0.75.
