Performance of second-generation microbial protein used as aquaculture feed in relation to planetary boundaries

چکیده
Carbon and nitrogen present in residual water streams can be converted into microbial protein used as animal feed aquaculture. While is thought to more environmentally sustainable when compared proteins made from fish residues or plants, nothing known about how it performs an absolute sustainability perspective, relative planetary boundaries. Here, a systems-oriented analysis using life cycle assessment (LCA) linked the boundaries framework was conducted assess environmental performance of pilot-scale production starch-rich process aerobic heterotrophs. Results showed that while this microbial-protein indeed performed significantly better than just fishmeal soybean meal for impacts related (N) phosphorus (P) flows, none three feeds were found relation all This constitutes opportunity technology developers scaled up matures.

Fish processing wastes used as feed ingredient for animal feed and aquaculture feed
Fish wastes management has become a global problem from the last years. Dispose of seafood wastes cause environmental pollution. To overcome this issue these unwanted seafood products are used for the formation of animal feed and aquaculture feed. These unwanted products include small fish and those parts of fish which are not used as human food. These unwanted parts include viscera, head, fins...

15 صفحه اولProspects of Medicated Feed in Aquaculture
Today aquaculture contributes to about half the total volume of global fish supplies and expected to increase further. The high density in aquaculture is a risk factor for disease outbreaks [1]. A typical example for loss due to diseases is of Chile, where the production of Atlantic salmon was dramatically reduced because of disease [2]. It is estimated that up to 40% of tropical shrimp product...

freshwater microalgae and other plant-like organisms. They are used in the production of pharmaceuticals, diet supplements, pigments, and biofuels, and also used as feeds in aquaculture. Phytoplankton are cultured to feed bivalve molluscs (all life stages), the early larval stages of crustaceans, and the zooplankton (e.g., rotifers, copepods) that are used as live food in fish hatcheries. Flage...
متن کاملAquaculture feed and food safety.
The ultimate objective of an aquaculture feed manufacturer and aquaculture food supplier is to ensure that the feed or food produced is both safe and wholesome. Reported food safety risks, which may be associated with the use of commercial animal feeds, including compound aquaculture feeds, usually result from the possible presence of unwanted contaminants, either within the feed ingredients us...
