چکیده

Abstract This study aims to establish a framework for multiscale assessment of damage materials with evolving microstructure based on recently proposed peridynamic computational homogenization theory. The starts replacing material complex constitutively equivalent that is microstructurally homogenous. Constitutive equivalence between the original and substitute achieved through enforcing strain energy via so-called nonlocal Hill’s lemma. law obtained by numerically solving boundary volume constraint problem an RVE. result from analysis RVE was compared previously published validity framework. comparison shows good agreement using those reported in literature.

Computational homogenization of fibrous piezoelectric materials

Flexible piezoelectric devices made of polymeric materials are widely used for microand nanoelectro-mechanical systems. In particular, numerous recent applications concern energy harvesting. Due to the importance of computational modeling to understand the influence that microscale geometry and constitutive variables exert on the macroscopic behavior, a numerical approach is developed here for ...

Homogenization-based Constitutive Models for Two-dimensional Viscoplastic Porous Media with Evolving Microstructure

In this study, we present a model based on the “second-order” nonlinear homogenization method for estimating the macroscopic response and the evolution of microstructure in two-dimensional viscoplastic porous media. The estimates of the new model are compared with unit cell finite element calculations and the earlier “variational” nonlinear homogenization method. The three methods are compared ...

Computational design of deformation processes for materials with ductile damage

A continuum sensitivity method is developed for thermoplasticity combined with ductile damage at finite strains. The computed sensitivity fields are used within a gradient-based optimization framework for the computational design of metal forming processes for porous materials. The accuracy and effectiveness of the developed updated Lagrangian finite element analysis and design techniques are d...

Linearized Theory of Peridynamic States

A state-based peridynamic material model describes internal forces acting on a point in terms of the collective deformation of all the material within a neighborhood of the point. In this paper, the response of a state-based peridynamic material is investigated for a small deformation superposed on a large deformation. The appropriate notion of a small deformation restricts the relative displac...
