Personalised Production in the Age of Circular Additive Manufacturing

This research examines the opportunities provided by advances in digital manufacturing technologies for provision of products designed to meet needs an individual consumer. The ability co-create with customers could enable mass personalisation become a popular and fast-growing mode production. Additive manufacturing, both 3D 4D printing forms, opens up new circular economy-compliant production such highly personalised products. Industry 4.0 has been seen many as agenda utilisation interconnected industry, particular focus on manufacturing. 5.0 seeks address challenges that have grown importance since inception 4.0, efficient inclusion human worker skills tandem automation solutions, complex scenarios while mitigating environmental issues inherent current practices, using economy principles. In examining smart fabrics, this paper puts forward framework additively manufactured products, co-designed inputs from consumers.
