چکیده
Abstract The aim of the current study was to develop a novel task that allows for quick assessment spatial memory precision with minimal technical and training requirements. In this task, participants memorized position an object in virtual room then judged from different perspective, whether has moved left or right. Results revealed exhibited systematic bias their responses we termed reversed congruency effect. Specifically, they performed worse when camera same direction than opposite directions. Notably, responded correctly almost 100% incongruent trials, regardless distance by which displaced. Experiment 2, showed effect cannot be explained movement on screen, but it relates perspective shift world. We also presence additional objects environment reduces such no longer predicts performance. 3, is greater older adults, suggesting quality perspective-taking abilities are critical. Overall, our results suggest driven difficulties precise encoding locations understanding how shifts affect projected positions two-dimensional image.

Effects of forced exercise on object location memory and anxiety behaviour in morphine dependent ovariectomized rats
Introduction: Previous findings from our laboratory indicated that exercise alleviates the deficits in cognitive and anxiety disorders in healthy female rats. But the effect of exercise on cognitive and anxiety disorders induced by chronic morphine in experimental monopose of rats (ovariectomized) not known. Aim of this study was to investigate the effects of mild and modorate forced exercise o...
متن کاملStrategies and biases in location memory in Williams syndrome.
Individuals with Williams syndrome (WS) demonstrate impaired visuo-spatial abilities in comparison to their level of verbal ability. In particular, visuo-spatial construction is an area of relative weakness. It has been hypothesised that poor or atypical location coding abilities contribute strongly to the impaired abilities observed on construction and drawing tasks [Farran, E. K., & Jarrold, ...
متن کاملExamining object location and object recognition memory in mice.
This unit is designed to provide sufficient instruction for the setup and execution of tests for object location and object recognition in adult mice. This task is ideally suited for the study of a variety of mouse models that examine disease mechanisms and novel therapeutic targets. By altering several key parameters, the experimenter can investigate short-term or long-term memory and look for...
متن کاملLanguage and memory for object location
In three experiments, we investigated the influence of two types of language on memory for object location: demonstratives (this, that) and possessives (my, your). Participants first read instructions containing demonstratives/possessives to place objects at different locations, and then had to recall those object locations (following object removal). Experiments 1 and 2 tested contrasting pred...
متن کاملAging, Eye Movements, and Object-Location Memory
This study investigated whether "intentional" instructions could improve older adults' object memory and object-location memory about a scene by promoting object-oriented viewing. Eye movements of younger and older adults were recorded while they viewed a photograph depicting 12 household objects in a cubicle with or without the knowledge that memory about these objects and their locations woul...
