چکیده
Zirconia ZrO 2 is one of the most important modern materials, but its use faces problem complex polymorphism. It generally accepted that, under normal conditions, it exists in monoclinic form P2_1/c (N 14), which undergoes an extended martensitic transformation into tetragonal P4_2/nmc 137) when heated above 1000 o C. However, group-theoretic analysis forbids a direct transition between these space groups and requires at least two intermediate forms. The experiment carried out this work using structure-sensitive methods (dilatometry electrical conductivity) indeed revealed existence singular points on temperature dependences expansion conductivity range 350±20 730±20 This agrees with literature data, demonstrate lattice parameters. According to dilatometry transitions are phase second order, correlates obtained Raman data (measurements temperatures up 900 C 60-900 cm -1 ), showing that local structure changes slightly, therefore, occur within framework syngony. متن کاملToward the Ultimate Limit of Phase Change in Ge2Sb2Te5
The limit to which the phase change memory material Ge2Sb2Te5 can be scaled toward the smallest possible memory cell is investigated using structural and optical methodologies. The encapsulation material surrounding the Ge2Sb2Te5 has an increasingly dominant effect on the material’s ability to change phase, and a profound increase in the crystallization temperature is observed when the Ge2Sb2Te...
متن کاملIn Situ Observation of Dehydration-Induced Phase Transformation from Na2Nb2O6H2O to NaNbO3
We have monitored the phase transformation from a Sandia octahedral molecular sieve Na2Nb2O6−H2O to a piezoelectric NaNbO3 nanowire through in situ X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) measurements at high temperatures. After dehydration at 288 °C, the Na2Nb2O6−H2O becomes significantly destabilized and transforms into NaNbO3 with the increase of time. The phase tr...
متن کاملInherent Simple Cubic Lattice Being Responsible for Ultrafast Solid-Phase Change of Ge2Sb2Te5
Crystallization of solid is generally slow in kinetics for atoms trapped in solids. Phase-change materials (PCMs) challenge current theory on its ultrafast reversible amorphous-to-crystal transition. Here by using the stochastic surface walking global optimization method, we establish the first global potential energy surface (PES) for Ge2Sb2Te5. By analyzing all structures on the global PES, w...

Two new rare-earth dicyanamides, namely, Tb[N(CN)2]3‚2H2O and Eu[N(CN)2]3‚2H2O, have been prepared by ion exchange in aqueous solution, followed by evaporation of the solvent at room temperature. The structures of both compounds have been solved and refined from single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction data, respectively. The two compounds are isostructural and are built up from irregular qu...
