Photoluminescence properties of green emitting phosphor Y<sub>4</sub>Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>9</sub>: Tb<sup>3+</sup> derived by modified combustion route

Abstract The Tb 3+ -doped Y 4 Al 2 O 9 powders were synthesized by combustion technique employing dual (Glycine +Urea) fuel. Formation of the compound was confirmed xRd technique. Photoluminescence (PL) properties ions doped (with concentration = 0.5,1,1.5,2, 2.5 mol%) investigated. It found that 4(1-x) xAl phosphor exhibits green emission under 251 nm excitation. intensity is to be maximum at mol % activation further increase in incorporation deceases exhibiting quenching.
