Photoselective Nets Alter Apple Canopy Air Temperature and Carbon Translocation during Dormancy and Budbreak

چکیده

Photoselective nets were used to examine apple shoot physiology during dormancy and budbreak. Two trials conducted: one in the field controlled conditions. In first, three colored (red, blue, white, shading 20%) covered sections of single trees, leaving an empty portion as control, from December April. The white net increased canopy air temperature compared with blue one. Differences found carbohydrate seasonal patterns; however, it appeared that soil had higher impacts on sugar movement trees. No differences bud phenology. second trial, cuttings placed boxes constructed same-colored monitored end February Results showed phenology translocation. box hastened bloom its amounts carbohydrates at trial. On contrary, delayed while resources still being consumed lowest reserves These results add new insights under different light spectra commercial applications should not be excluded for improving crop management.

SVP-like MADS Box Genes Control Dormancy and Budbreak in Apple

The annual growth cycle of trees is the result of seasonal cues. The onset of winter triggers an endodormant state preventing bud growth and, once a chilling requirement is satisfied, these buds enter an ecodormant state and resume growing. MADS-box genes with similarity to Arabidopsis SHORT VEGETATIVE PHASE (SVP) [the SVP-like and DORMANCY ASSOCIATED MADS-BOX (DAM) genes] have been implicated ...

Ripening, storage temperature, ethylene action, and oxidative stress alter apple peel phytosterol metabolism.

The chilling conditions of apple cold storage can provoke an economically significant necrotic peel disorder called superficial scald (scald) in susceptible cultivars. Disorder development can be reduced by inhibiting ethylene action or oxidative stress as well as intermittent warming. It was previously demonstrated that scald is preceded by a metabolomic shift that results in altered levels of...

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

Low temperature, but not photoperiod, controls growth cessation and dormancy induction and release in apple and pear.

In contrast to most temperate woody species, apple and pear and some other woody species of the Rosaceae family are insensitive to photoperiod, and no alternative environmental seasonal signal is known to control their dormancy. We studied growth and dormancy induction in micropropagated plants of four apple (Malus pumila Mill.) and one pear (Pyrus communis L.) commercial rootstock cultivars in...

Chilling-Mediated DNA Methylation Changes during Dormancy and Its Release Reveal the Importance of Epigenetic Regulation during Winter Dormancy in Apple (Malus x domestica Borkh.)

Winter dormancy is a well known mechanism adopted by temperate plants, to mitigate the chilling temperature of winters. However, acquisition of sufficient chilling during winter dormancy ensures the normal phenological traits in subsequent growing period. Thus, low temperature appears to play crucial roles in growth and development of temperate plants. Apple, being an important temperate fruit ...
