Chloroplasts and photosynthesis are the physiologically fateful arenas of salinity stress. Morphological anatomical alterations in leaf tissue, ultrastructural changes chloroplast, compromise integrity three-layered chloroplast membrane system, defects light dark reactions during osmotic, ionic, oxidative phases salt stress conversed detail to bring salinity-mediated physiological on a single platform. salt-tolerant plants have evolved highly regulated salt-responsive pathways. Thylakoid remodeling, ion homeostasis, osmoprotection, upregulation stromal proteins, ROS scavenging, efficient retrograde signalling, differential gene metabolite abundance key attributes optimal tolerant species.
