چکیده
The relationships among the genera of fungus gnats in mycetophilid subfamily Leiinae are unclear, and monophyly this group is questionable. This monograph provides an extensive phylogenetic study based on morphological data from a large taxonomic sample, including all that have ever been assigned to wide outgroup sampling properly test subfamilial monophyly. A matrix with 128 features 117 terminal taxa was carried out under parsimony using different implicit weight schemes. All recovered topologies support monophyletic more restricted than usual delimitation subfamily. We found no consistent evidence clade Docosia Winnertz, Novakia Strobl, Ectrepesthoneura Enderlein, Tetragoneura Winnertz together remaining Leiinae. name rank—Tetragoneurinae, already present literature—is used here refer group. allactoneurine Sticholeia Soli Allactoneura de Meijere form leiine genus Leiella Manotinae, which deeply nested within male terminalia patterns analyzed illustrated. classification for proposed grouping 33 seven clades ranked as tribes: Selkirkiini Megophthalmidiini, trib. nov., Rondaniellini, Cycloneurini Shaw Shaw, Manotini Edwards, Anomalomyiini, Leiini Edwards. key world also provided. Cretaceous fossil record revisited biogeographic evolution discussed.

Phylogeny and biogeography of the genus Pelinoides Cresson (Diptera-Ephydridae)
A phylogenetic analysis of the 21 species of genus Pelinoides using 44 discrete morphological characters is presented. From the previous proposed three groups, pallipes, sulcatus and cyclocerus, the first is recovered. The sulcatus group appears as paraphyletic in terms of cyclocerus. Pelinoides is present in the Neotropical and Andean Regions and in the Transitional South American Zone. Four a...
متن کاملPhylogeny and biogeography of the genus Piezura Rondani (Diptera: Fanniidae)
The Holarctic genus Piezura Rondani (Diptera, Fanniidae) is reviewed. Phylogenetic relationships among the species in this group, as well as the biogeography of these species, are discussed on the basis of a cladistic analysis. Piezura graminicola shanxiensis Xue, Wang and Wu, 1998 is redescribed and elevated to species rank based on comparison of its morphology and phylogenetic relationships. ...
متن کاملFossils and plant phylogeny.
Developing a detailed estimate of plant phylogeny is the key first step toward a more sophisticated and particularized understanding of plant evolution. At many levels in the hierarchy of plant life, it will be impossible to develop an adequate understanding of plant phylogeny without taking into account the additional diversity provided by fossil plants. This is especially the case for relativ...
متن کاملPALEOBIOGEOGRAPHY: The Relevance of Fossils to Biogeography
■ Abstract Paleobiogeography has advanced as a discipline owing to the increasing utilization of a phylogenetic approach to the study of biogeographic patterns. Coupled with this, there has been an increasing interdigitation of paleontology with molecular systematics because of the development of techniques to analyze ancient DNA and because of the use of sophisticated methods to utilize molecu...
