چکیده

Background: Mobility, defined as the ability to walk safely and independently, is integral theperformance of basic activities daily living. An interruption in normal gait cycle energyconserving characteristics trunk limb motion results an increased energy expenditure. Objective: The objective study was compare Physiological Cost Index(PCI) walking instroke survivors with their Functional Ambulation Category(FAC).Design:Cross Sectional StudyMethods: 30 participants meeting inclusion exclusion criteria were included study. Theparticipants graded on FAC. Their heart rate(HR) recorded pre- post- 6-Minute-Walk-Test(6MWT). distance walked measured recorded. PCI calculated datawas subjected statistical analysis. Results: mean all 0.72(±0.68). A moderate negative correlation existedbetween category FAC patients decreased. Conclusion: Increased values could imply lower functional mobility scores Therapeuticinterventions that alter interventions effectively reduce consumption couldbe identified for better rehabilitation outcomes.

The Physiological Cost Index and Some Kinematic Parameters of Walking and Jogging in Blind and Sighted Students

Background: Vision plays an important role in supporting efficient locomotion. The present study aimed to measure the physiological cost index (PCI) and some kinematic parameters of preferred walking and jogging in blind and sighted students. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among blind (n=18) and sighted (n=27) students aged 8-16 years. The following parameters were measured...

Concurrent Validity of Physiological Cost Index in Walking over Ground and during Robotic Training in Subacute Stroke Patients

Physiological Cost Index (PCI) has been proposed to assess gait demand. The purpose of the study was to establish whether PCI is a valid indicator in subacute stroke patients of energy cost of walking in different walking conditions, that is, over ground and on the Gait Trainer (GT) with body weight support (BWS). The study tested if correlations exist between PCI and ECW, indicating validity o...

Reliability and validity of the modified functional ambulation category scale in patients with hemiparalysis

[Purpose] This study aimed to examine the inter- and intra-rater reliability and validity of the modified functional ambulation category (mFAC) scale. [Subjects and Methods] The participants were 66 stroke patients with hemiparalysis. The inter- and intra-rater validity of the mFAC was calculated using the Spearman correlation coefficient. A score comparison of the stable or maximum gait speed ...

functional study of p0 proteins of two cereal yellow dwarf viruses (cydv-rpv and cydv-rps) and identification of their cellular partner
